This high-altitude micro lot coffee comes directly from Roberto Mata, one of our long-standing producer partners based in the Tarrazú region of Costa Rica.
We combine Caturra and Catuai varieties in a medium level roast to create this finely balanced coffee with good acidity, liquorice notes and a tangy aroma for full bodied richness.
We have visited Roberto’s farm on numerous occasions since 2008, as well as welcoming him to the UK twice, with a third visit planned in autumn 2024. We take full control of shipping Roberto’s coffee, giving us unequivocal traceability and enabling us to cut carbon emissions on UK haulage by 50 per cent by utilising rail links.
For us, this one is best prepared using a drip filter, such as a Hario V60 or Chemex, or a cafetière.
